How to delete all your X bookmarks at once.

There is a bulk option, it is only in the mobile app, it is buried in a three-dot menu, and it is permanent. Here is where it lives, what to do if you are on desktop, and the one step worth taking before you press it.

Before you clear anything

There is no undo. No trash, no restore, no support ticket that brings the list back. If you have been saving posts for a couple of years, that list is a record of what you found worth keeping, and a lot of people only notice that once it's gone.

So if the reason you're clearing is that the list has become unusable rather than that you want the contents destroyed, take a copy first. The export writeup covers how, and it takes a few minutes.

On the X mobile app (iPhone and Android)

  1. Open the X app and tap your profile picture in the top corner to open the side menu.
  2. Tap Bookmarks.
  3. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right of the Bookmarks screen.
  4. Choose Clear all Bookmarks.
  5. Confirm. Every saved post is removed at once.

Same steps on both platforms. If you don't see the option, make sure you're actually on the Bookmarks timeline rather than inside a folder, and that the app is up to date.

On desktop web

There's no equivalent. x.com/i/bookmarks shows the list and lets you remove saves one by one, but there's no bulk control anywhere in the web client. Your options are to open the app on your phone for the one-tap version, or work through the list manually.

Extensions that advertise one-click bulk removal do exist. They work by driving your logged-in session, which means handing a third party the ability to act as you on X. That's a real trade for a job the official app does in four taps.

Deleting bookmarks one at a time

Open the post and tap the bookmark icon again, or use the share menu and pick Remove from Bookmarks. Nothing is announced to anyone. Bookmarks are private, the author isn't notified when you save or unsave, and removing a bookmark has no effect on the post itself.

Why the list got unusable in the first place

Almost nobody clears their bookmarks because the posts stopped being interesting. They clear because the list grew past the point where finding anything in it is realistic: no search, no tags, folders only on Premium, and a feed that only goes newest-first. At that point wiping it feels like the only way to make it mean something again.

The nicer version is to move the saves somewhere they stay findable, then keep bookmarking freely. Zihin syncs your X bookmarks into your own library through your own browser session, where they're searchable by meaning rather than exact wording, tagged automatically, and safe from the original post being deleted. Once there's a copy on your side, clearing the X list costs you nothing.
